Location: West Midlands, UK
Position: Band 7 CAMHS Practitioner Locum (Community Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker)
Pay Rate: £30 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Duration: Long-term placement
Key Responsibilities:
- Holistic Initial Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children, providing a thorough formulation of their needs and developing a detailed plan for subsequent support.
- Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Evaluate and create safety plans around potential risks, ensuring the wellbeing of the child.
- Safeguarding: Demonstrate Level 3 safeguarding knowledge, identify signs of abuse, and understand when to refer to social care and other relevant agencies.
- Mental Health Expertise: Offer expert advice on managing mental health presentations and associated risks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records in accordance with the NMC code of conduct and trust policy.
- Communication and Engagement: Exhibit strong communication and engagement skills, fostering positive interactions with children, families, and other professionals.
- Organisational Skills: Display excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Registration: Current registration with the NMC (for CPNs) or HCPC (for Social Workers).
- Experience: Proven experience in a CAMHS setting, with a strong understanding of mental health issues affecting children and adolescents.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures and mental health legislation.
- Skills: High level of competence in conducting assessments, formulating care plans, and managing risk.
